After a fabulous summer, we’re now wrapping up warm and keeping our homes as cosy as we can. There’ll be blankets and throws aplenty, in lots of natural, textured finishes. The same goes for our interiors, where comforting textured finishes add personality to room schemes, whether you’re updating from scratch or just adding new details here and there. Dulux’s Colour of the Year 2023 is Wild Wonder, adding a natural, positive vibe to our interiors.
Nature’s Green
For a gorgeous green bathroom that will look perfect when styled up with plants and greenery try our Manacor Basil Green square ceramic tiles. The deep puddle glaze adds elements of shine and the undulating finish adds texture.

Fantastical Greens
Marble is a natural material of course, and our Fantasy Calacatta Green Polished Marble Effect Porcelain wall and floor tiles are a beautiful replica of this natural stone. The green colourway is new, and whilst it is very smooth an elegant, it has a natural, grounded feel. The tiles are smooth and glossy – texture is added in this scheme with timber panelling and natural woven baskets.

Top Terrazzo Style
Our Trend White Terrazzo wall and floor tiles have a subtle pattern, and the 600mm x 600mm format means that they are a good choice for a kitchen wall – with fewer grout lines than smaller format tiles. The subtle look is perfectly combined here with a timber work surface to keep that natural theme going.

Natural Lighting
Any kitchen or bathroom renovations always seem to extend beyond the original brief, and can lead to requirements from lighting to furniture in the blink of an eye! This is the Scraplights 16 Disc Pendant Lamp in laser-cut recycled cardboard, from Beaumonde

Textured Style
Lemmy Indio Blue Wall & Floor tiles have a luxurious look that appears textured, and the matt finish emphasises an industrial look. The textured aspect is subtle, and works very well with modern, textured upholstery. Consider our Espina Light Grey Oak Engineered 14mm Herringbone Lacquered engineered oak flooring to add to the texture in the room. They measure 660mm x 110mm, can be laid in a straight or herringbone format, showing natural knots, grains and tones.

Teddy-Style Texture
Add irresistible texture and a cosy autumnal touch to your new project with the Day Birger et Mikkleson Home Drum Stool, available from Coggles. This would work well alongside our Lemmy tiles, or as a little stool or table in the bathroom …

In the Kitchen
A good starting plan for a kitchen colour scheme is to pick a colourful tile, which can be used as a splashback all around the kitchen. One clever design idea is to tile the whole area between work surface and wall cupboards around the sink and cooking areas, and then use a single tile as an upstand in the rest of the kitchen. Our Village Emerald Green wall tiles can be used vertically or horizontally and fit the concept of a natural colour scheme perfectly.

Sleek Texture
Adding some texture doesn’t have to be dramatic, it can be subtle. Kitchens are often overwhelmingly smooth and shiny, with lots of reflections and glossy surfaces. Take it down a notch by adding texture in the form of tactile velvet. Illustrated perfectly here by Danetti, with their Juliana Velvet & Stainless Steel Champagne bar stools. And of course, get the look with some of our Metro White Wall Tiles

Naturally Rustic
Go for a homely, rustic look with real oak engineered flooring; this is our Grande Rustic Oak Engineered Flooring, which comes in plank format. Each plank is 1092mm x 180mm, with a matt lacquer finish, which fits in well with the textured, natural look. There’s also an oiled finish version, and to check which version suits your style and requirements, it’s easy to order a sample – just click on the samples box at the bottom of the page here.

Pebbles Underfoot
A new tiled, laminate, vinyl or wooden floor will be tough and hardwearing … but you may want to add a bit of softness underfoot. A thick, textured rug is a great contrast to hard flooring – positioned in front of the fireplace or beside the bed. This is the Pebble Natural Rug from Loaf. Just right for creating a textured, snuggly look in the living room for the coming winter.

Growing Naturally
Enhance that natural, textured look in your home by adding a selection of house plants, perhaps choosing a selection of woven basket-style plant-pot holders, and some chunky, textured ceramic or pottery ones. This is Kew Stoneware Palm Bowl, available in Sago (cream) and Olive, as shown here. And if you put your stoneware or ceramic pot holders directly onto a wooden or laminated floor, remember to protect the floor surface with a mat, as any non-glazed area on the bottom of the pot can allow damp to create a mark on the floor …

Naturally Fresh & Green
Choose a fresh green look with Manacor Mint glossy ceramic tiles. These have just that right touch of colour to work with the darker shades that are so fashionable for cabinetry, such as indigo blue and forest green. The green and natural themes are set to continue. They create a sense of back to nature calmness in the kitchen, however hot and hectic it gets!
