Do crackle glaze tiles only require an initial application of LTP Protector before grouting, or does this need to be re-applied periodically to maintain protection? Our Advice

Hi Ivor After the initial seal, due to service conditions, the tiles may require a further test 7-14 days after te see if a further coat is required. This is because crackle tiles have a reactive glaze and further minor cracks can occasionally open up. After this, the tiles should be fine for a few years. For cleaning, only use a pH neutral cleaner, as anything too acidic or alkaline can cause the sealer to fail. We recommend the use of the LTP Stonewash for regular maintenance. If you wish to discuss your project in more detail, please call our Sales Team on 01536 314730, and they will be more than happy to help you. Regards Walls And Floors

Am I complicating things if I choose crackle glaze tiles? I need these tiles to last in my kitchen. They will be around the sink area. Our Advice

Hi Ingrid, Crackle glaze tiles can make a stylish addition to any room and so long as they are fitted and sealed correctly you shouldn’t have any issues with them going around a sink area. Full instructions on how to use the glaze protector are provided on the web site and of course on the bottle as well. Kind regards, Walls and Floors
